Hertingfordbury Parish Council
Hertingfordbury Parish Council serves an area just to the West of Hertford that comprises the villages of the “Five Greens” (Birch Green, Cole Green, East End Green, Letty Green, Staines Green) plus Labby Green, Pipers End and Cumberland Green. There are approximately 750 people in these villages living in about 250 houses, cottages and flats lying between Hertford to the east, the Lower Hatfield Road to the south, towards the Holwell Roundabout to the west, going towards Panshanger to the north and with the A414 running through the middle.
The parish of Hertingfordbury has an area of 2,644 acres, of which 1,223 acres are arable land and 750 acres are permanent grass. The greater part of the parish lies at an altitude of over 200 ft. above the ordnance datum, reaching 264 ft. in the west, but in the east of the parish and along the northern border, in the valleys of the Lea and Mimram, the ground is below 200 ft.
